| Paranoia towards the USA has existed so long in Canada it has become apart of Canadian culture. But should Canada be afraid of anything in the USA? Its been 192 years since the last American invasion in 1812 yet people still fear being taken over culturaly. I would apreciate coments from Americans especially. |

Well obviously there's no need to fear of invasion, isn't it?
As for a cultural "take over", that's the people's choice... there's not much you can do about it (except for education).
Besides, most of the world today is culturally affected by the US. Deal with it :) |

| Most of the early success of the British troops in the 1812 war was because of Canadian commanders within the British troops, the Canadian militia units, and mostly becuase of native Canadian involvement. But the entire point of Canada is to keep Americans south of the border. most Canadians do not have any problems with sharing food, music, movies with our larger neighbor but when it comes to politics and social problems Canadians do not want to be like Americans. Recently Canadians, like myself, have begun to worry about the future if America remains under Bush's rule. Softwood lumber, USA blaming Canada when their electrical network fails and the ballistic missile defense all are examples of situations where the USA created the situation. Canadians do not want to argue with the USA, but we wont be push overs either. Most Canadians are scared of George Bush and people like him. |

| Well Canada does have nuclear weapons that the US gave us way back in the 50's, or at least we did. Going on Bush's track record thats enough to be scared of. On top of that today Bush placed a tariff on pigs from Canada, he's waging economic war. |
