Do you support Paul Martin's UN address that we should be able to intervene when there is a Humanitarin Crisis? Also do you support our money and soldiers going to Sudan to help the people there?

I support going into Sudan but I'm wondering if our miniscule army might be stretched to thin. Canada has been pushing for something to be done since June and the response has been pathetic. I loved the part of Martin's speech where he said something to the effect of "We would not intervene unilaterally but would insist on UN participation." Beautiful. Anyways remember Rwanda? Rwanda was another case of a Canadian screaming for help and the countries that could have made a huge difference just sat with thier thumbs up thier butt. It might already be to late to help Sudan. :(

When did the UN stop doing what it is suppost to do, help the world avoid hideous massacers happen? We should enlarge our army to meet this demand and correct the current problems in our military. As sorry as I am to say this, the worlds only going to get worse from here in terms of stife.

The way to stop the bloodshed in Sudan is to help the Sudanese Africans create their own soverign nation. If other African nations get involved the better. They can they protect themsleves from the invading Arab herdsmen. International troops can be called in to establish and protect this nation. Otherwise what else is going to happen, international troops are going to protect burnt out looted homes for ever?

Long term that may be the right solution. I think Martin is talking about an immediate response to a humanitarian crises. We have to get food in thier bellies and some form of a roof over there heads And give them some security from the herdsman before we can begin "nation building". |

Martin was saying he didn't neccesarily want to send our troops but he did want to provide training within to their troops to help keep stability within. Of course we woul send money and help with the technical side of things. Our military is not strong enough to do it alone. Being as we are the once still in Afghanistan keeping peace.
